USED THE MK3 FOR SLEEPING IN THE DRY DESERT PLUS HUMID AREAS:
I purchased a MK3 as a gift for my husband who works in the tropics and outback desert areas of Australia. I was optimistic that the dual cooler/air-conditioner would give him some relief from the heat. He recently passed through the Opal Mining Town of Coober Pedy where they build their homes underground to beat the heat and the temperature there was 54 degrees Celsius (130 Degrees Fahrenheit). He sleeps in the back canopy area of a utility while on the road working and he tells me THE MK3 IS FANTASTIC! On the low setting it cools the sleeping area (using water only) and he has no trouble sleeping at all. With ice (in the Humid Tropics) and on a higher setting he pulled a sleeping bag over himself because he was too cool! I want to thank you for a great product and tremendous customer service. My husband has recommended you to other drivers and they will be in touch with you soon. TOO COOL! K.R. Blackwall Australia

THE MW1 COOLS USING WATER ONLY IN DRY CLIMATES:
Last night, I arrived in Mesquite, NV at 7 PM. The temp was 109. Great time to try out the cooler (MW1), I set it in the back seat area, next to the rear passenger window, opened the window about 4 inches and opened the drivers window about an inch, within a couple of minutes the air in the cab started cooling off. It worked great. I climbed into the sleeper about 10 PM and directed the cooler toward me, it again worked great, kept me cool long enough for the outside air to cool down to a comfortable sleeping temp. Right now, I'm in Hesperia, CA. with the temp at 92 and the cooler is keeping me comfortable while I'm sending you this information. Great unit, thanks, B. K. Henderson, CO.

The two cooling models preferred by truckers are the MW1 model using water only in the dry areas. The dual system MK3 model uses ice water in humid areas or water only in dry areas. You can also use reusable ice packs to help cool water, which will not duplicate ice, however the MK3 will produce cooler air than water alone because of it's Dual Cooling System. The WIN, which is similar to the MW1 except it also allows the use of ice, which aids in cooling in dryer climates.

Delivered Prices range from $321.00 for the MW1 and $579.00 for the MK3 in the Continental USA including selected options. (The MK3 uses the energy of 4 clearance lights and the MW1 & WIN use the energy of 1 clearance light.)

The Dual Cooling System of the MK3 contains a copper heat exchanger with multitudes of openings for the ice water to pass, which produces Air Conditioned air just like the heat exchanger (evaporator) in your truck a/c. Then when using water only the MK3 produces cool air by bringing the hot air through the Custom Evaporative Filter, just like the MW1 or WIN. This unique design produces cool air automatically two ways with no adjustments needed.

If you drew a line through the middle of North Dakota continuing south into the Gulf you would typically cool with water only West of the line in dry areas or ice & water East of the line in humid areas for comfort. Of course you may use water only in humid areas if you would be satisfied with 10 or 15 degree cooler air than a fan would produce.

Both models are dependable & rugged with only one $6 filter to replace every 200 to 400 hours. The MK3 pump may need replacing after 1,500 hours, which costs less than $20 at boat stores. The blowers fans are 20,000-hour motors and should never need replacing.

Specifications including dimensions

The MK3 was designed for surveillance two years ago to keep the back half of a van cool for up to 8 hours at a time. Now the MK3 is used in trucks & aircraft for cooling & uses no more battery energy than four truck clearance lights.

The MW1 & MK3 are very efficient in dry climates producing 20 to 30 degrees cooler air than ambient temperatures using water only. You need Ventilation to keep from building up any excess humidity. In humid climates the MW1 & MK3 may cool about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than a fan however does nothing to reduce humidity plus ventilation is important.

The method the MW1 and the MK3 use for cooling with water only is more effective than normal evaporative cooling because of a unique Custom evaporative filter that wicks water as it needs it for perfect evaporation. When it is real dry they wick more water and when humid wicks less water, therefore always produces cooler air than any other portable evaporative cooler.

In a humid area it is always easier to air condition by idling or if available go to an idle air station than plan on the amount of ice you need for several hours of use. Of course in a dry area you do not need to idle or plan as you cool with water only when you have a MK3.

If you want air conditioning and cannot idle in a humid area as you are loading or unloading or stuck in the boonies the MK3 is ready to provide what you need. You just plan on the number of hours you need air conditioning and pick up the ice needed at Wal-Mart, Target, Truck Stop, etc.

A negative to air-conditioning in a humid area with the MK3 is planning for the amount of time you need cooling just like they do when performing surveillance. Also the cost of ice could be $2.00 to $2.50 for every hour you need cooling as you may use from 10 to 12 pounds of ice per hour at night & more in the daytime.

Of course your investment in the MK3 and ice could be well worth it for the times you are over heated in a humid or dry area. Remember when in dry climates or even stuck in a humid area without ice you still benefit from cooling with just water. You can also use reusable ice packs to help cool water, which will not duplicate ice, however will produce cooler air than water alone.

Along with the MK3 you need an ice chest and a cigarette lighter plug in your truck. The ice chest could cost $20.00 or $30.00 and be of various sizes depending on your need for air conditioning in a humid area. For example a 50 quart ice chest could be 19" x 19" x 19" and provide up to 6 hours of sleep using ice at night. The MW1 is self contained with only an optional $12.00 collapsible water kit suggested.

There are two small 5/8* water hoses pumping water in and out of the MK3. One of which contains a pump that forces 300 gallons of water every hour through the Copper evaporator. The other returns the water back into the ice chest siphoning condensation with it creating a dry closed system. The MK3 20,000-hour fan motors produce cold air by flowing the hot and humid ambient air through the ice chilled copper evaporator producing the cold air into the area you need air conditioned.

When you need to eliminate excess water from the ice chest, merely take the return line and put it out the door, turn on the MK3 and it will pump out the water in a minute or two. Therefore you never need to move or remove your ice chest.

I just want to tell you that doing business with you has been great and that the customer service has been excellent. The unit works great I am a truck driver works for Knights Transportation out of Phoenix,AZ and at times have to sleep in my truck in Phoenix when the outside temp is still over 100 and all I do is open the 2 top sleeper vents for fresh air and turn the unit on high and can sleep all night without wakeing up. I have told other drivers about it and showed them how good it works and they say they going to order one for themselfs. Thank you. C. G. Tuscson, AZ.

My husband did have a chance to use his (MW1) this last week in California. The temperature was into the nineties in the daytime and he was able to sleep in the sleeper with his Swampy running. He is very pleased with this purchase. Thanks, M.A. Battle Mountain, NV

Just to let you know I am a local truck driver here in the valley and my company like many out there nowadays don't want us to idle when we get stuck somewhere waiting to get loaded or unloaded. Well today I got stuck sitting at one of the shippers over in Tolleson for about 4 hours and while my buddies in the trucks be side me were cookin' I was comfortable thanks to my MW1. Thanks for a great product! M.H. Black Canyon City, AZ

T.D. of Atlanta, GA. called 06/03/2008 to order additional cooling filters as she purchased a MW1 for her husband for his truck Sleeper in 2005. When she ordered the MW1 we explained that this type of cooling was not as effective in a humid area as it is in a dry area. She ordered it anyway and her husband says it blows cool air while he sleeps plus has saved a lot of Fuel these past two years. (Other) -[Testimonials]

We shipped another MW1 on June 4, 2008 to R.N. of Carrollton, GA. as he said even if he gets to use it a few nights it will pay for itself quickly in Fuel Savings. He just did not want to deal with the ice as he feels he can normally get by just fine with the 10 to 15 degree cooler air than just a fan. If it is too uncomfortable because of higher than normal heat and humidity he can still crank up the engine.

The MightyKool MW1 utilizes the evaporative system of cooling and is most effective in dryer climates of the world. Many Truckers that use this model set it in an area at the foot of their Sleeper with the window open behind it. Then another window is opened so that a steady flow of cool air is directed across the bunk providing a good comfortable sleep.

You do not need any special battery set up or charging system. Operate the MW1 or MK3 from your 12-volt cigarette lighter source as one battery will give 25 to 50 hours of service before needing a charge.

Specifications

What are the Dimensions, Amperage Draw and Water Capacity?

One gallon (3.75 liters) of water will last around two to three hours in the daytime and four to five hours during the night when used for evaporative cooling in dry desert climates. The "Ice Water" models typically use from 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) to 20 pounds (9.0 kilograms) of ice Per Hour, depending on the ambient temperature and day or night operation.

A 105 Deep Cycle battery, "not being charged", allow the MW1, WIN & MW2 to operate for 50 to 80 hours and the "Ice Water" models like the MK3, MK4, MAC & M400 will operate for 25 to 35 hours before the battery needs charging. The T154, T304, S154 & AC12 Models will operate about 8 hours before the battery would need charging, as they use more energy.

Evaporative Cooler Models MW1/MW2 use Water only and the WIN could use both Ice and Water. The AC 12 will not cool with Water. The M400, MK3, MK4, MAC, & MG4 Provide; Dual Air Conditioning using Ice or Water
All Dual Systems automatically dispose of the excess condensation collected
